IRVINE, Calif. – Dec. 1, 2017 – For the ninth consecutive year, Nihon Kohden has donated the proceeds from the sale of one of its EEG-1200A machines to benefit the American Epilepsy Society’s (AES) clinical and basic research fellowships.
The EEG system was purchased by Greenville Health System, Greenville, S.C., and 100 percent of the proceeds will be presented to AES at 2 p.m. on Dec. 2 during the society’s annual meeting in Washington, DC.
“Nihon Kohden’s gift is an investment in the future of epilepsy research and will fund new investigators with promising ideas,” Dr. Eli M. Mizrahi, American Epilepsy Society president, said. “We are grateful for their leadership
and continued support in advancing our mission.”
Nihon Kohden’s support of AES is part of the organization’s fundraising efforts to support the society’s educational, research and training offerings. Proceeds will be designated to support post-doctoral fellowships and early career
grants awarded through the Lennox & Lombroso Trust and a clinical research training fellowship awarded through the Susan S. Spencer Fund.
