From the American Brain Coalition - Preliminary injunction to stop federal funding of stem cell research
A U.S. District Court ruled against President Obama’s 2009 executive order that expanded embryonic stem cell research by allowing federal money to pay for research on a few batches of stem cells, citing that it violates a ban on federal money being used to destroy embryos (the Dickey-Wicker Amendment). The judge issued a preliminary injunction to stop federal funding of stem cell research while the lawsuit proceeds through the legal system, which it is expected to do.
