Research Infrastructure Awards
Eligibility: 2013 Deadlines: Letter of Intent due August 19th. If selected, full application due November 1st. 1. Multicenter (defined as three or more) 2. Innovative (exploring new concepts, new techniques, different approaches to significant problems in the epilepsy field - high rish/high gain studies are consistent with this criterion) 3. Aimed at developing a new collaborative research program and collecting preliminary results for an NIH grant application. 4. Viewed as important research 5. Likely to lead to significant research programs that will be funded from other (e.g. NIH) sources.

Application Information: Application is done in two parts. Electronic submission required. Letter of intent due August 15 see web liink above for details. Notification of acceptance will be made by October 6th. Selected candidates will be invited to submit a complete application by Novwmber 3.
Other: Awards will be based on proposed budget and are anticipated to be up to $50,000 per year. A competing renewal application (progress report) is required for the second year of funding. These funds are meant to be used to support pilot projects and hold organizational and planning sessions, develop the research effort and collect results that would be used to prepare and submit a larger applictaion for support from the Federal Government and establish the multicenter research program over the long term.
