Leave a Legacy

THE FUTURE BEGINS WITH YOU!
Remember AES in your estate plan

We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give."
-Winston Churchill

Giving back is part of who you are personally and professionally.  You have shown this through your years of supporting the American Epilepsy Society and your work in research, education, training and the personal care of epilepsy patients.  What about the future?  Will you be able to help others carry on the essential work of AES?

Epilepsy stops people. The American Epilepsy Society helps us stop epilepsy. By planning a gift to AES as part of your overall estate and financial plans you not only help an organization that has been part of your career, you help ensure that our mission continues for years to come.  You are helping to ensure that others will continue to excel in epilepsy research and education and to care for people with epilepsy.  Your planned gift gives you a very special connection with AES.

Legacy Giving or Planned Giving can be as simple as adding a line to your will including AES in the disbursement of your estate.  However, there are many more choices available to you that may reduce taxes for you and your heirs, or perhaps you will choose one that provides a life stream income for you.  Below are some of the choices available to you.

  • a bequest to AES in your will or trust
  • a life income plan, which provides income to you, such as a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust
  • a gift which provides income to AES during your lifetime, such as a charitable lead trust
  • a gift designating AES as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan
  • a gift of real estate

We advise you to contact a professional trained in planned giving and estate planning when determining the best planned gift for you.  Once you decide on your planned gift for AES, please contact us with the information and we will list you under our Legacy Circle.
