Pediatric Epilepsy Neurologist – Akron Children's Hospital

Akron Children’s Hospital is currently seeking a Pediatric Epilepsy Neurologist to join Dr. Roger Hudgins, a pediatric neurosurgeon specializing in epilepsy surgery, in the formation of a new Pediatric Neurosciences Institute. The physician will act at the Director level in the development of an Epilepsy Program with Dr. Hudgins, Director of the Institute. The addition of an Epilepsy Program to the already well established Neurosurgery and Neurodevelopmental Programs at Akron Children’s will allow Akron Children’s to offer an even more comprehensive range of Pediatric Neuroscience Services.
Akron Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care academic health system with two free-standing hospitals and over 70 other service locations in Northeast Ohio. Akron Children’s is the largest provider of pediatric health care services in the region and provided services to over 500,000 children in 2008. It is the 9th largest freestanding children’s hospital in the United States, with over 300 inpatient beds and regional burn and trauma centers (www.akronchildrens.org). The Hospital’s primary service area now includes over 27 counties with a population of over 3 million people. Akron Children’s also has a growing research enterprise and is a founding member of the new multi-party research collaborative in Akron, the BioInnovation Institute (www.bioinnovationinstitute.org).
