Pediatric Neurologist – South Bend, Indiana

starts: 12/01/2009
ends: 12/31/2050

Memorial Health System in South Bend, Indiana is pleased to announce the continued development and expansion of Memorial Children’s Hospital, a member of NACHRI. Memorial Health System is deeply rooted in the northern Indiana/southern Michigan region, as evidenced by over 100 years of service to the nearly one million residents who chose to make it their home. As part of our growth, we are seeking an experienced, Board Certified Pediatric Neurologist to join our staff.

Memorial’s innovation in recent years has included a $90 million surgical suite replacement project, a new Regional Cancer Center, and the establishment of Memorial Children’s Hospital, which has plans to expand in 2010. We are very proud of our accomplishments made thus far in attracting a number of quality Pediatric subspecialists to our community, including a full complement of Pediatric Intensivists, Perinatologists, and Pediatric Hospitalists, as well as specialists in the fields of Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonology, and Developmental Pediatrics.

Memorial Hospital, a 526-bed Level II Trauma Center and a 36-bed Level IIIB NICU, has a 10-bed PICU, 20 general pediatric beds, and an eight-bed pediatric hematology/oncology unit. With the planned increased augmentation, these services will increase to a 50-bed Level IIIB NICU, 12-bed PICU, 38-bed pediatric unit, and an eight-bed pediatric hematology/oncology unit. Our new surgical department includes 22 ORs, 27 recovery rooms, and 15 pre-surgery beds.

Memorial Health System is fortunate to partner with The University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine in the training of its medical students. The ability to have academic involvement is available, as is participation in clinical research.

The greater South Bend metro area is a remarkable region of 170,000 residents that provides a highly diverse setting to reside in from cultural, recreational, educational, college level sports, residential, and retail perspectives. South Bend truly offers the best all of options with the comfort and appeal of a collegiate community that is located only 90 minutes from one of the most exciting metropolitan cities in the world (Chicago), with access readily available via Interstate 80/90. For those who prefer to ride rather than drive, commuter train service is available at South Bend Regional Airport with stops throughout northern Indiana and ending at Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Direct flights are available to Atlanta, Chicago/O’Hare, Cincinnati, Clearwater, Cleveland, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York, and Orlando.
