CME Policies and Procedures
The work of the AES’s CME program is conducted within the framework of the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the policies of the American Medical Association with regards to the awarding of AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
In order to conform with all applicable policies and procedures, it is imperative that staff work with the program chairs and faculty to complete the Educational Planning Form. This Planning Form helps us to ensure that all AES educational activities are derived from needs and that programs are formed on the basis of what constitutes good adult education. It is important that we identify gaps that may exist in regards to improvement in practice, knowledge and/or patient outcomes. The Faculty Development Room (FDR) is an online system that is utilized by all Annual Meeting faculty. This allows the faculty to receive their faculty letter electronically and complete the required forms for CME purposes and upload their slides for electronic liaison review. Faculty may also register for the conference and make their hotel reservations via the FDR.
The Medical Education Evaluator allows any attendee to self manage the process of completing course pre/post tests, course evaluations, tracking credits and printing out the appropriate certificate for either AMA PRA Category 1 credits, CE or ACPE pharmacy statement of credits for the Annual Meeting.
