Professional Development
To further improve the knowledge and understanding of epilepsy, AES encourages
the continuing professional development of physicians and other health care
professionals by offering an array of activities to assist the learner in
expanding their knowledge of topics in the field of epilepsy.
The American Epilepsy Society (AES) is committed to the support and enhancement of the study, acquisition, dissemination, and application of medical knowledge concerning epilepsy in all of its phases: biological, clinical and social.
The American Epilepsy Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Accreditation dictates that AES is
compliant with ACCME’s Essential Areas and Policies.
In addition to the
accreditation, AES was also awarded the 2002 William Campbell Felch Award for
Excellence in CME Research. The Felch Award is issued by the Alliance for
Continuing Medical Education (ACME), a professional association for CME
providers.
