Abstracts Archive

Since 2000, AES has maintained an archive containing the abstracts of all contributed presentations at the annual meetings. This archive allows retrieval of abstracts from a searchable online database. The archive is a valuable resource for epilepsy researchers. It is the most extensive and comprehensive epilepsy-specific information resource available anywhere, and complements PubMed/MEDLINE, which only indexes published articles and may therefore not be current. (The data in the abstract archive is also published in a supplement to Epilepsia.)

The archive has many uses. It can help you recall a presentation seen at the annual meeting. In addition, you can use it to identify current trends in research. Or, it can help you easily find the names of individuals working in a specific research area.

In those cases where authors have provided slides or the full text of posters, a link to this material will be provided next to the entry on the "Search Results" screen. The link states: "A full slide or poster presentation is available for this abstract (AES members only)." Click on this link to obtain the supplementary material. (At present, this feature is available only to AES members and requires a user name/password.) Often, you'll be able to retrieve the same PDF file that the author used to print the poster for display. You can use the PDF file in conjunction with Adobe Acrobat to print a miniature facsimile of the poster. In other cases, Power Point slides of the talk or text files are available.

AES Posters and Presentations
An index of all 2002 abstracts that have links to full text posters or slides makes it easy to find the abstracts that have supplemental material.
