Research
American Epilepsy Society members work to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy. In the support of its members, AES is committed to providing those engaged in research with information and assistance of potential benefit in advancing their work.
AES also has formed alliances with other organizations that provide research funding, including the Grass Foundation, Epilepsy Foundation, and other funding sources.

Clinical Trials - AES does not endorse any of the clinical trials available through these links, but provides the information as a member service.
As part of it's mission, the Society will assist with announcements of clinical trials that adhere to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) policies for publication of clinical trials. These policies include the requirement that the clinical trial be registered at inception in a public repository (such as www.clinicaltrials.gov), authored by investigators who are independent of the sponsor, and have results announced publicly within 24 months of data collection closure. Particularly relevant aspects of registration include designation of the sponsor(s) and outcome(s). Although no required for registration, clinical trials publicized by the AES must have approval by an ethics board.
AES announcements of clinical trials will specify that the trial is not endorsed by the AES and will be limited to the following information:
1. Trial name
2. Trial investigator(s) and contact information
3. Outcomes
4. Inclusion and exclusion criteria summary
5. Enrollment period
6. Sponsor(s)
Announcements will be on the AES Web site and emailed to members who request this service. Direct postal mailing to members will be provided if the cost is reimbursed by the sponsor(s) or investigator(s). No fee beyond the actual cost will be charged by AES for this postal mailing service. Space will be made available at AES Annual Meetings to promote clinical trials. For further information or to submit a trial announcement, contact info@aesnet.org.
