Epileptologist – Winchester VA

A BE/BC epileptologist needed for very busy epilepsy and neurodevelopmental clinic that is part of a larger multispecialty neurology practice, which is very dynamic including neuroimagers and interventional neurologists. Practice is private and community-based hospital. The practice established and directs the comprehensive epilepsy surgery program that includes the 450 bed hospital and a large private practice neurosurgical group that includes a functional neurosurgeon. It is a National Association of Epilepsy Center (NAEC) member site. The epilepsy clinic treats and evaluates pediatric and adult polulations.
We have our own 3,000 sq. ft neurophysiology laboratory, performing extensive testing including prolonged video-EEG monitoring. The sleep center is also associated with lab.
Presurgical evaluations, including scalp, and subdural grid and strip video-EEG monitoring are performed in the hospital. Other inpatient testing includes Wada, brain SPECT/ PET, extra- and intraoperative cortical mapping, and as well as 3T MRI imaging.
Neurology call is 1:7 and the practice referral population is 450,000
