Pediatric Neuropsychologist – United States
The Department of Pediatric Psychology at CHOC Children’s Hospital (CHOC) in Orange, California is seeking a full-time pediatric neuropsychologist to join our expanding Department.
This position will primarily involve working with our expanding epilepsy program. CHOC Children’s program was recently designated as a Level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and provides a broad range of services for children with Epilepsy and their families. Primary job responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient neuropsychological evaluations, Wada testing, and inpatient consultation-liaison service for the Epilepsy Monitoring Units and general Neurology service. The neuropsychologist would be involved in collaboration and program development with a multi-disciplinary treatment team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and allied health care professionals. The Neuropsychologist will also participate in the supervision and training of post-doctoral fellows, interns, graduate students and medical residents.
CHOC Children’s has a strong commitment as a teaching facility with a well-established APA-accredited internship program, as well as postdoctoral fellowships, and the Neuropsychologist may participate in all aspects of training and supervision. Furthermore, opportunities for program development and support activities within the Epilepsy community are available and encouraged. Research opportunities are available and are encouraged.
Requirements include completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in psychology with training in pediatric neuropsychology at both the internship and postdoctoral levels. Preference will be given to candidates who completed post-doctoral fellowships in pediatric neuropsychology, with a focus in Epilepsy. Candidates must be licensed or license eligible in the State of California. Candidates from minority and diverse cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Department of Pediatric Psychology’s mission is to serve medically fragile children and their families. The Department provides consultation services throughout the hospital and to numerous outpatient medical clinics.
