Research Fellowship – SUNY Downstate Medical Center
This is a NY State funded research fellowship focusing on interictal perceptual function in epilepsy. The research fellow will participate in all aspects of the project, including experimental design, implementation, data collection and analysis, and preparing manuscripts for publication. The project will include performing psychophysical perceptual tests, and fMRI protocols on patients with epilepsy, including patients undergoing intracranial video-EEG monitoring. Research will take place at both SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine, in Manhasset, NY.
1. be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
2. completed residency
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
4. At least ONE of the following:
a. graduated from a medical school located in NY State,
b. graduated from a residency training program sponsored by an institution located in NY State
c. reside in NY State.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
1. Research experience in perceptual psychophysics and / or fMRI.
2. Experience with MATLAB and SPSS.
3. Clinical experience with epilepsy patients.
