Epilepsy Fellowship – Atlanta, GA
Emory offers an excellent 1-2 year fellowship in Epilepsy.
Fellows work in a variety of learning environments to attain a balanced education and become proficient with electro-diagnostic tests. These include a state-of-the-art Neurological ICU where fellows master cutting-edge technology and trend analysis for continuous EEG monitoring from experts in the field. There is the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for diagnostic monitoring and surgical cases for learning advanced EEG methodologies including intracranial monitoring, stereo EEG and cortical mapping.
Our Epilepsy clinics offer invaluable experience with faculty with special knowledge including epidemiology, women’s issues, neurostimulation and transitional care. Additionally the fellow will be exposed to routine, ambulatory EEG and evoked potentials.
There are electives including Pediatric EEG, Sleep Physiology, Neuromuscular Medicine, and intraoperative monitoring. The curriculum is rounded out with multiple educational conferences including weekly didactics, an additional “primer” lecture series and a weekly multidisciplinary Epilepsy Surgery Conference.
The first year of fellowship is ACGM accredited. After completion the physician will be eligible to take board certifications offered by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN). A second year of fellowship is available depending on interest.
