Chief Neurodiagnostic Technologist – SUNY Downstate Medical Center
SUNY Downstate Medical Center is recruiting a Chief Neurodiagnostic Technologist (CNT) to supervise the EEG laboratory and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The CNT must be a registered EEG technologist by ABRET or equivalent, and should have a minimum of 5 years of clinical EEG experience, including with ambulatory EEG and in-patient video-EEG monitoring. The chief technologist provides technical, administrative and educational support to the junior technologists, the medical housestaff, and the lab’s medical director.
Required qualifications include:
•Graduate of an Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technologist Program or certified hospital program
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Excellent leadership, organizational and teaching skills
•Ability to work cooperatively with attending and resident physicians, nurses, EEG technologists, and other support staff
•Experience with Evoked Potentials including VEP, BAEP and SSEP
•Experience with the placement of special electrodes
•Experience with diagnostic and pre-surgical video EEG monitoring studies
Preferred qualifications include
•Experience with Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM)
•Experience with extra- and intraoperative corticography and cortical mapping
•Experience with intracranial video-EEG monitoring
