COVID-19 and Epilepsy
A message to the AES community from William D. Gaillard, MD, president of the American Epilepsy Society
In this rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, I want to recognize all that you--our AES members--are doing to support your patients, trainees, colleagues, and institutions as we navigate through uncharted territory together.
In collaboration with our valued colleagues at the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS), Child Neurology Society (CNS), ASET – The Neurodiagnostic Society, the Epilepsy Foundation (EF), and the Child Neurology Foundation (CNF), we are monitoring resources about COVID-19, pandemic-related epilepsy patient concerns, and impact on epilepsy research. Information will be updated on this site as it becomes available.
AES is staying the course regarding our education and research programs, even as we build contingency plans. Our commitment is to ensure that our members and the larger epilepsy community have uninterrupted access to the most current science and best clinical practices, with the ultimate goal of the best possible outcomes for epilepsy patients.
