Active (Click here to join) Physicians, health care providers, and scientists in epilepsy or related fields. Physicians in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico must join as Active, unless they are in training (Trainee) or employed by industry (Associate). U.S., Canada, or Mexico Yes $275 Yes
Professional (Click here to join) Health care providers and scientists in epilepsy or related fields. U.S., Canada, or Mexico No $125 No
International (Click here to join) Physicians and those involved in clinical, research, or other professional aspects of epilepsy or related fields who are outside the U.S., Canada, or Mexico. Outside of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico Yes $160 May purchase an Epilepsia subscription for $82.
Advocate (Click here to join) Employees of nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations that support the American Epilepsy Society's mission and vision.  Anywhere in the world No $90 No
Associate (Click here to join) Employees of for-profit companies involved in the marketing, sales and/or development of epilepsy-related products or services.  Anywhere in the world Yes $275 Yes
Trainee (Click here to join) In an education or training program in epilepsy or a related field. Postdocs are eligible for this category. Trainee members must provide a letter from their program director or supervisor to complete their membership application. Anywhere in the world Yes $75 May purchase an Epilepsia subscription for $75.

Senior members

Those who have been members of AES from 15 consecutive years and are retired from pratice may request Senior membership status. Senior members do not pay dues. Senior members do not vote, serve on committees or the Board, and do not receive Epilepsia. For more information about Senior membership, please contact AES Member Services.

How dues are assessed

If you join between... You pay...
July 1-December 31 Full year's dues
January 1-April 30 Prorated dues based on the month you join
May 1-June 30 Full year's dues for the upcoming member year--the remaining time in the current membership year is included at no charge.
