The AES Call for Volunteers is Now Open!
The American Epilepsy Society is led by members who share their insights and expertise in volunteer roles. Most volunteer activity takes place through a committee structure that includes approximately 30 committees with close to 700 AES members who typically serve three-year terms. The committee system is the driving force behind the initiatives, programs, and activities that advance the AES mission. Committee service provides a way for members to engage more deeply with the work of the Society, to connect with other members, and build a career-enhancing record of meaningful volunteer accomplishments.
Interested in getting more involved with AES through committee service? Submit an application during the annual AES Call for Volunteers! Members who are appointed to a committee during the fall of 2020 will, in most cases, serve from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023.
To learn more about the roles, responsibilities, and composition of committees, click the button above (member login is required).
The number of volunteers generally exceeds the number of available committee slots, and appointments are made based on the number of open positions on each committee and the expertise needed. All volunteers, whether or not appointed to a committee this year, are deeply appreciated. The applications of members that AES is not able to place on a committee for the 2021-2023 term will be saved in an active file for new roles and assignments as they occur.
