Help Improve Your Patients' Quality of Life with Evidence-Based Seizure Self-Management Programs ... Become a HOBSCOTCH Cognitive Coach!
AES, in partnership with Dartmouth Health, a coordinating center for the Managing Epilepsy Well Network, is hosting a HOBSCOTCH Cognitive Coach Training and Certification workshop in two parts: virtually on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, 12-4pm (ET), and the remaining 4 hours, in person at the annual meeting, on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, 3pm-7pm (ET) at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, 190 Marietta St NW Atlanta, GA 30303.
HOBSCOTCH (HOme Based Epilepsy Self-Management and COgnitive Training Changes Lives) is an evidence-based epilepsy self-management program designed to help people with epilepsy find ways to manage and cope with their memory and thinking challenges to lead happier, more productive lives.
Training to become a HOBSCOTCH Cognitive Coach is divided into didactic and applied sections. Led by Dartmouth Faculty and experienced coaches, the training is interactive, beginning with a comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundation for the program including Problem Solving Therapy (PST) and Memory and Attention Adaptation Training (MAAT). After reviewing the study materials and program structure, trainees practice delivering the intervention with supervision from an experienced coach.
