The American Epilepsy Society (AES) and the International League Against Epilepsy-North America (ILAE-NA) Epilepsy Disparities Joint Task Force has prepared draft recommendations to address epilepsy health care disparities.

The task force invites public comment on the draft recommendations. All input will be considered but may or may not be incorporated in the final recommendations. The AES/ILAE-NA Taskforce will convene to discuss all comments and any potential modifications to the draft.

New Guideline: Epilepsy and Pregnancy

A new practice guideline on epilepsy and pregnancy is available from the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) in collaboration with AES and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM). The guideline, Teratogenesis, perinatal, and neurodevelopmental outcomes after in utero exposure to antiseizure medication: Practice guideline from the AAN, AES, and SMFM, was published May 15, 2024, in Neurology® online, with upcoming co-publication in Epilepsy Currents to follow.
