2022 Summer Research Interns

The AES Summer Research Intern program is designed to deepen the commitment of promising undergraduate scientists who identify as members of historically underrepresented groups to medical and/or research careers, welcome them into the epilepsy community, and support their growth and future careers.

Selected students are paired with mentors for an intensive introduction to the field of epilepsy while they are exploring their interests and options--supporting the Society's efforts to grow a well-trained and increasingly diverse workforce of epilepsy scientists and clinicians.

Institutions receiving AES grants for these internships:

  • University of Alabama at Birmingham
  • Baylor University
  • University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • University of Kansas
  • The University of Michigan
  • University of Virginia School of Medicine
