David G. Vossler, MD, FAAN, FANCS, FAES, Elected to American Epilepsy Society Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES ― David G. Vossler, MD, FAAN, FANCS, FAES, has been elected to the American Epilepsy Society (AES) board of directors beginning at the conclusion of the Society's 2024 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Dec. 6-10, 2024. A medical and scientific society of more than 5,200 members, the AES is dedicated to advancing research and education for preventing, treating and curing epilepsy.

Dr. Vossler graduated with a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in biochemistry from the University of Rochester. He received his medical degree, cum laude, from the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, and completed an internship in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He completed a residency in neurology at the Boston University School of Medicine and was elected chief resident. Dr. Vossler completed a two-year fellowship in EEG and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine, Seattle. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and epilepsy, and by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology.

Dr. Vossler teaches and conducts research at the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC)-accredited Level 4 Epilepsy Center at UW Medicine, Valley Medical Center, Renton, Washington, and is clinical professor of neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle. He has been the principal investigator on 72 clinical trials, and has published over 115 original articles, reviews and book chapters.

Dr. Vossler is a fellow of the American Epilepsy Society, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Academy of Neurology, and is a member of the Epilepsy Study Consortium.  Dr. Vossler serves on the editorial boards of several neurology journals. He served as chair of the American Epilepsy Society’s Council on Clinical Activities, Treatments Committee, and Refractory Status Epilepticus Taskforce. He was on the board of directors of the NAEC and served as president of the Washington State Neurological Society and the Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society as well as other medical organizations.
